Hello All,
I am investigating a low oil pressure problem on a rover 3.5 v8. I
suspected that the oil pressure relief valve was sticking as the oil
pressure varied quite a lot. I removed the relief valve spring and it
matched the new one I just bought. The the valve plunger slid fairly
easily in its bore until I pushed it all the way into the pump body. There
appeared to be some resisitance towards the end of its travel. Could this
be the cause of the intermittant low oil pressure?
Is there any way to hone or clean up the bore on the relief valve?
Any advice welcome
Stuart Goggin
