I would agree on that price. Last year I bought a complete '63 Buick
special 2bbl engine (supposedly running, but out of the car), for $100 Cdn.
This included a broken 4spd bellhousing (all clutch components still within).
There are too many uncertainties on an engine this old - you really would
need to tear it down to determine its condition, at which point it isn't a
complete engine anymore! Good ol' catch 22...
A newer rover engine would fetch more - there is a better chance that it is
in good condition (ie. not needing $1,000 worth of work at a machine shop).
