Rick,
Being a fellow Californian, I know that you're very familiar with A.B.
2683, passed in 2004. Some saw it as a victory for the collector car
enthusiast because it exempted '75 and older cars from the smog laws. However,
it
took away the rolling exemption on cars 30 years and older and is seen by
many as the red herring we all dread. Many feel that CA will eventually lift
the exemption, probably to '66 and newer and eventually regulate all,
including pre-emission equipped. We need to remain vigilant and keep informed
on
what they're doing in Sacramento. As in many areas, as California goes, so
goes the nation.
For the record you can thank Senator Mike Machado for cosponsoring A.B.
2683. He's a moron and just doesn't get it. His opponent, the man in
Sacramento in our corner is none other than Tom McClintock. Remember those
names
at election time!!
Regards,
Steve Hollander
