Yup. English sized bearings are pretty thin on the ground. But, the
bearing shop also couldn't source 5/16 X 1/4 rollers, and those are
available for Triumph (motorcycle) clutches, so I'm hoping that 1/4 X
1/4 are available through non-standard channels as well. (there are,
for example, even a number of metric tapered roller bearings for
relatively modern motorcycle headstocks that are not listed by the
bearing company that makes them, but are available through motorcycle
suppliers.)
