My story is similar, except it was my first year in college and I found a
59? TR3A for sale. No money, so I had to convince my Dad to buy it. Not
sure how much respect it deserved, but it was worth every penny of the $300
or so it cost, and it's still sitting in my Dad's garage tho considerably
deteriorated. He still drives it when the cops aren't looking.

I had a series of TR3/As, with the most recent acquisition being just a year
ago after the previous one was totaled on the freeway. But I drove that one
to work almost every day for 20 years, so it was bound to happen sooner or
later. When I get the "new" one on the road, I'll drive it almost as much.
