Question from a novice

Hello,
I recently acquired a 1975 MGB and I am going to try to restore it (if I  
live long enough!). Right now I am working on the bonnet. The top of the  
bonnet 
stay is attached to the bonnet but bottom is not attached. There is  a bracket 
on the bottom end that looks as if it rusted away from its attaching  point. 
Now you are going to see what a novice I am! Could any one tell me  where and 
how the bottom end attaches?
