I know there is a specific oil made for lever type shock absorbers (like
Girling or Armstrong), but if not available, has anyone used either 20
weight motorcycle fork oil, or hydraulic jack oil? I'm especially
interested in using hydraulic jack oil, as I had to buy a whole quart of
it when I changed out the oil on my hydraulic floor jack, and I have
plenty left.

The jack oil container label said it can be used on "fill-type shock
absorbers". Thought I would seek the wisdom of these lists first before
draining and refilling my shocks.

Thanks,
