As others have said, no, it's not a GM part.

The notation "LD4224-946 SUPPLIED" means that the original P/N has been
superceded to P/N LD4224-946.
If you then search on LD4224-946, the description is "T78 BRAKE M/C, 1978".
"T78" of course means TR7 & TR8, so it certainly sounds like the right part.

I doubt the 3 Stooges (Manny, Moe and Jack) will be much help, but I've had
surprising success at my local independent auto parts store. It seems that
they can frequently have my parts rebuilt, at a fraction of the price of
even rebuilt parts from the usual suppliers. I haven't installed it yet,
but the alternator they had rebuilt for my Stag looks very nice : new
brushes, brush holder, bearings, diodes, etc. Turnaround was about 3 days,
cost to me was under $50.
