If I remember correctly, the original regs concerning farm equipment,
i.e. pick ups, etc. were passed to protect the American trucks and
keep them competitive in price and performance from foreign built
ones. Exempting them from some safety, emissions, and most im-
portantly, mileage regs was originally meant for "farm/construction
use"...This is the loophole that the Ford Subdivision drives thru'...
