The intermittent backup light problem on my TR7 has finally been solved.
After checking everything else in the world, I checked the one item I should
have checked first, the backup light switch on the tranmission. I took it
out, and it seemed to work fine, but I decided to replace it anyway. When
the new switch came, it was almost 1/2 inch shorter than the one I was
replacing -- looks like the contacts on the end of old one were grounding out
against a part of the tranmission.
Everything is working right now, so off to the inspection station, pronto!
A question about bushings. I'm going to replace all the bushing in the front
end.
In a 1998 tech article in the WorldWideWedge website, Johan Vorsterman van
Oijen (NL) suggests uprated bushings for the front end, except the subframe
bushings which he feels gives too harsh a ride.
Anyone else have an opinion on upgrading all or just some of the bushings?
As always, thanks!
