Also check to see which is cheaper, renting a tow dolly or a truck. Many
U-haul trucks will hold most LBCs just fine. My dad's F-150 Ford Pickup fits
a spridget in the bed... no joke! I got pics too!

Fred:

A number of years ago I had to move my British Car junk from
Colorado to California. I found out that rental rates varied dramatically
depending upon how much equipment had to be relocated from the pickup to
dropoff locations.

My first quote was $500 for truck, $200 for trailer. After putting
my name down on a contact list I ended up spending $260 for the truck and
the trailer was free.

This was during the time of the great California to Colorado exodus
in the early 90s. On the way out there I saw convoys of empty trucks and
trailers heading back west driven by paid U-Haul and Ryder drivers.

The point is that the difference in rate may be due to the need to
relocate equipment.
I found that if you have a flexible time table you can put your name
down on a contact list and may get better rates when the company had
equipment they needed moved.

YMMV.
