HI List
First;
I am about to start rebuilding my 63 tr4's oil pump and was wondering, after
the removal, rebuild and reinstall, does the oil pump need to be primed? If
so, any suggestion as to how? I have heard of a few methods. The strangest
was to pack the pump with vasoline. I dunno if that sounds like such a good
idea. I am assuming the oil pump can be removed/rebuilt by removing the oil
sump pan and getting to the oil pump with the engine in the car. help!
What's the right/best way, if even needed, to prime my oil pump?
Second;
I know I am at high risk for shipwrights disease but, while the oil sump pan
is off what else should I check or replace.
Once again, thanks in advance for the opportunity to leverage the collective
knowledge of this list to insure I do the job correctly.
Regards
TJ
