I was reading on their archives that the purpose of ignition timing is not
to adjust the spark relative to TDC as a primary aim, more to ensure that
maximum cylinder pressure occurs at 19.5 degrees after TDC! oooooerrr.
All of this discussion seems extremely technical but enlightening when
I understood it.
