I'm already getting concerned about my readiness for the VTR national
meet in Rockford, Illinois, this summer. The GT6 will probably be OK
but it really needs a fresh coat of paint if it's to look it best.
I figure I've put 18,000 miles on it since the last paint job, with
too much of it on gravel roads. Not to mention, I think the head is
failing me again. If it goes, I'm taking it to the machine shop
this time to get magnafluxed.

But that's the easy stuff. The one that's got me worried is the Spit
Mk.III.

I started stripping stuff, and a LOT of fasteners on this thing are
rusted pretty solid. The bolts holding the seats on don't want to
budge. Neither does one of them on the backup light lens. Can't wait
till I get to the windscreen...

Is there some general net.wisdom for removing frozen fasteners? As I'm
sure some of you remember from past tales, overly tight bolts have never
been a problem with the GT6+. Exactly the opposite, in fact!

So how do you attack this problem. How about a step-by-step plan?

1. Try with normal tool. If stuck:
   2. Soak with Kroil, then try with normal tool. If still stuck:
      3. Attach plastic explosives...

And so on. What is your normal progression of remedies?

Thanks much!

Larry
