Two seperate topics I know. First for the TR running poorly for the
first while, set at very rich. Those two things combined make me
wonder if you have a gasket leak at the manifold or a carb leak
somewhere. Either way it's leaning out the mix until things warm up,
expand and seal things better. THat's my guess.
Now the Surrey top 4. The floors are no big deal, but if the top
side of the chassis rails are gone too then it's a bad prospect,
unless it's for parts. That said the OD is a good 500.00, the surrey
top a grand, a good set of 5 used wires another good buck. (these
are CAN dollars). So there are good parts there.
I love the Surrey 4 and think that if it's got a solid chassis then
2500.00 CAN is OK. The interior is all available and not THAT much
in terms of a full resto.
I also have to disagree with whoever compared it to a Healey
hard top. Yes, that's almost useless unless you're in Alaska, but the
Surrey is a super compromise between a convertable and a coupe. Very
useable IMHO, for spring and fall especially.
