The depreciation is real bad, and the same as here in the US, from what
I've read.
The XJS and XJ6 are completely different cars with completely different
personalities. From what I've heard from XJ6 owners, they seem to be a bit
less reliable than the XJ6. When they go through major design revisions
(the XJ6 has done so twice since '88) it seems to take them a couple of
years to get the bugs out. The XJS hasn't changed much recently.
My experience with my XJS was real positive (it ended when a huge Ford
pickup truck totaled it in a parking lot). It was my daily commute car
through rush hour Wash, DC traffic and never once let me down. The few
things that did go bad over several years (cruise control, oil seal,
alternator) were quite expensive to replace, however. Go for the extended
warantee.
