MGA Suspension:

With winter upon New England, I've been looking for some sub-assembly to keep
the progress going. Since the car is, at this point, a bare frame which is in
need of paint, the suspension, brakes, and/or engine are the things which make
most sense.

6 to 8 months ago I ordered about $1200 from Moss Motors, and one of the items
was a front suspension kit (with MGBGT-V8 bushings); it was back ordered. I
called yesterday to see if they ever intended to get any. I didn't have my
customer number handy, and the woman on the phone was kind of snotty because of
it. If nothing else, having a name like "Legerlotz" ensures that I'm the
customer database should be able to find me. The woman knew little about the
situation, other than the fact that its still back ordered.

I spoke to a sales rep who told me that there is one supplier of these
suspension kits, and that they make a batch of kits for car X (or at least the
unique parts for car X), then wait until its worth their while to produce
another batch. He said that last year it was impossible to get kits for
AH-3000, this year MGA. Also, he said that its not the rubber parts that are
the problem, its the rest of the contents of the kit.

My question is, has anyone gotten a front suspension kit for an MGA in the past
few months? If so, from where?

Seen in passing:

As I was driving home from work yesterday, something strange caught my eye on
the opposite side of the road... an MGA MKII. I'm in southern NH and we have
already had some snow (and consequently salted roads), so I was surprised to
see the car on the road.

I'm curious as to whether the driver is an SOLer.

It was about 2:45 pm and the the car was headed south on RT3 in Nashua, NH.
