BUMPERS: The bumpers on 73 and 74 spitfires are the same. They are small and
have a badge in the middle that states "TRIUMPH". Unfortunatly the
N.American versions have large overiders(bumperetes). The overiders are
there to cover up brackets that connect the frame to the Bumper. Other
things that are different on the 73-74 spitfire 1500 are crome trim,
rocker type hazard switch, older 3rail trany, and cylinder head with no
air injection holes. The later spit1500 has crome bumper with large
middle section, pull type hazard switch, 1rail tranny(similar to TR7
4speed), air injection, and black trim.
WEBERS: A DCOE is a better carb than a DGV. So why be cheep and make
90degree turns, you will just lose on preformance.
WHEELS: Xtremely lo profiles and large wheels don't look good on old
cars. Remember when you get new tires to keep tire diameter the same other
wise your speedo will be wrong.
Overall Dia. 22.5 inch
Rim dia. 13 inch 14 inch 15 inch
Tire size 155/80R13
175/70R13 185/60R13 195/50R13
205/60R13
Does anyone know where I can get some aluminum wheels 14x6 or 15x6,
that are the correct offset and will fit the spitfire 4 by 3 3/4 bolt
pattern.(preferably minilite style) Your help would be appreciated.
