Hi All,
All these stories of mistaken identities brings back an incident
about 5 years ago when I was a member of the local Antique Car Club which is
99.9% American iron from the '50's and '60's (not really antique in my
books, but everything seems to be relative to one's age ;-) ). At the start
of a club tour, we were leaving the local Arby's Restaurant in the '54
Sunbeam Talbot, when one of their members came up to me and asked what year
my Packard was. MY WHAT????? I guess there is *some* resemblance but I think
the size difference is considerable!
Unfortunately, I made the mistake of relating this story to a member
of the British Automobile Touring Assn. of Nova Scotia (BATA for short) and
it has haunted me ever since. (to Chris Ball, even Trish and Fred in the
Toronto Triumph Club know about this!)
Regards,
Bob
