Some of you may have seen the interview on Letterman last night
about the 7 year old who won a Viper. A mechanic I know has had
a '55 MG-TF parked in his shop for awhile and today I got the
story on that project.

Seems the car was _given_ to an 11 year old by a friend of the family.
It's been dry-stored since 1975, has 20K miles, solid wood, and _no_ rust.
Before Will starts breathing hard and choking on his cheerios, a
provision of the gift is that it has to stay in the family forever...
it can't be sold.

Friend mechanic has been accumulating parts since the summer, mostly
from Moss. He's planning to completely replace the brake and fuel
systems, and tear down engine and gearbox. He asked me about the quality
of Moss parts, and I had to shrug. I've gotten good stuff from them,
but they occasionally ship stuff which can't possibly fit on your car...

The only thing I know about T-series cars is that I don't have one.
Can anyone on the list who's T-savvy recommend some really good T-specific
parts sources? Who is the TRF of MG-T*'s? What other stuff should he
look at as part of restoration?

I imagine this kid doesn't make a lot on his paper route, so low prices
wouldn't hurt. On the other hand, he can toss a lot of papers in the
five years until he can get a learner's permit.

"definitely a long-term project"
