Well, I couldn't figure out why I was having so much problem setting my
timing on the Tiggermobile (1963 TR-4). Turns out the PO took the
crankshaft pulley apart and put it back together with the timing mark 60
degrees off. The PO could do this because the pulley is two pieces, held
together with six bolts in a symetrical pattern. Those British engineers
didn't arrange things so that the pulley could only go together one way.
Then again, why should they? What possible reason would anyone have for
taking the pulley apart!?

Sorry to rant so much, but if you've ever taken off the crankshaft pully
on a TR-4 you'll understand. Let's just say it's not a one-hour job.
