I would think that it would be expensive and rather tricky to do properly.
You want to ensure that the resulting car is safe, strong and durable.
The other challenge would be to find the required top frame components and
various trim items necessary to make it both functional and nice looking. We
own a 1980 TR7 convertible, and we have experienced difficulties in finding
such parts.
Considering the rather low market value of the TR7 convertible, it may be
cheaper to buy one instead of getting the good old can opener out. :-)
