Well I will be at Mid-Ohio for the RUNOFFS only on October 14-16.
Unfortunately because of my JOB thats all I can make. I live in outside of
Cleveland and spend many days at MO during the summer. I am currently an
SCCA Steward and have been involved in SCCA for about 20 years. First as a
corner worker, then as a national licensed starter and now as a steward.
Many stories from over the yearsbut some other time. If you have not heard,
the plan for the RUNOFFS is to start the races in the middle of the back
straight. This is the same place that the Indy Cars start. This will make
the infield side of the first turn a prime viewing area. Also the keyhole at
the start of the back straight and the end of the back straight are going to
be prime viewing areas. I am going to be a Start JUdge for the races and I
will have a VERY VERY good view for the starts of the races.
As far as food goes... the track food is just that!! Track food and usually
not cheap. I've eaten enough of it thru the years!! There is a SUBWAY in
Lexington and their menu says they will deliver an order of 15 sandwiches or
more. Sandwiches are good never experienced delivery. The BAYOU CAFE in
Lex. is good cajun food but tends to be crowded. The Van Deck
buffet(couldn't spell smorgasboard!?) is good. One exit north of lexington
on I-71 (RT.13?) has a Denny's, Bob Evans, Shoney's, Taco Bell, Arby's and
McDonalds. I think thats all.
