Salute,
the Scimitar SS1 (which burned) is now nearly disassembled to
chassis. Only Motor and body-shell (the gfk part where you sit
in and the screen in mounted in) are yet mounted.
So we began to think about the motor. Yet there's still the
Nissan 1800 turbo mounted (yes, the 1800ti doesn't have a
Ford 4cyl as the 1.3/1.4/1.6 have) and would like to replace
this electronic blackbox with detached motor by a real one,
which can be repaired/service made by oneself.
Therefor the question: is anyone of you using a 1.6/1.7
Ford-based (ca 150-180bhp) Cosworth or the Lotus Oselli Motor
using ? What is your opinion about it ? Worth it's money,
problems, details on how it's tuned, ... ?
Why Ford-based ?
There isn't too much room for the motor in the frame and the
Ford 4cyl has just the perfect size, esp. width :)
Gruss
