Another TRF Summer Party is history. With the exception of fairly serious
rain on Sunday's car show, the weekend was great. The Friday event at
the drive-in movie theater was a brilliant idea and a lot of fun. I found
fellow Scion Frank Condelli; were we the only netters there? Many
attendees had been at the VTR convention the previous weekend.
Do I understand correctly that the 1995 VTR event will be in Illinois?
About 90 cars competed in the autocross, with some very well prepared
and driven modified cars burning up the course. As John Lye had
mentioned, T.K. Jackson was there from Florida with his blindingly fast
TR6 - it almost sounds like a turbine, it is so smooth. I don't know how
TK finished, nor am I certain of mine, but the last printout I saw had
me leading Class B (solid axle older Britcars). We were so soaked by 2:30
Sunday we skipped the trophy presentation and opted for warm and dry.
Now it's off to Grand Rapids for John Twist's version of a Summer Party.
SOL sign and shirt will again be displayed!
