Spotted at a used car lot in Brookline, NH:
1980 TR7 Roadster color purple/burgundy/dark red, black top-aftermarket
chrome
wheels. Price on window was USD2495. Call 603-672-2901
I do not know these people, have not interest, etc.......
On another note, attended the British Invasion at Stowe VT last weekend.
Quite an
unbeleivable collection of neat cars. More MG and TR and Mogs then I have
ever
seen in one spot. A very impressive collection of RR, Bentleys and Aston
Martins
also. Being that close to Canada, there was a very large contingent of
Canadian cars,
some of which never were sold here. I met David Huddleson by pre-arrangement
and
acquired my new/old set of hubs for the TR.
LR had a neato demo set up. They built a 20 foot high mini-mountain and
turned loose
all those who were interesed in a choice of LR Defenders, Range Roves,
Countrys,etc
to charge up and down this hill. Quite entertaing.
The organizers also had a real honest-to-God polo match going on with a
proper Brit
accented narrator to explain it all. A interesting aspect of the polo match
was when
it was over the spectators were invited to "trod the field" to help restore
some of the
turf which was chewed up by the hooves. The polo version on golfers
replacing their
divots.
A RR emporium had two sectioned display engines in plastic cases running.
These things
always amaze me; you get the see the crank go around, the con rods/pistons go
up and
down, cams/followers/ rockers/valves do their things, all in slow motion.
Both were
in-line sixes, one an early Ghost (I think) type and the other from a Phantom
of some
sort.
A good time was had by all, near as I could tell.
Cheers,
