Several posting recently have mentioned the Japanese penchant
for taking good ideas from British cars and then making their
own versions.  We all know, of course, that the Japanese auto
industry started by building British cars under license.  Its
true, the first Nissans were Austin Sevens built under license
back in the '20's (I think).  

For further confirmation, just look at the brakes and carbs on a 
Datsun 240-Z, then look at your TR-6...
