Thanks to all of you who replied.
There were several winners out there.
As many of you are aware there are 2 suppliers of clutches fo rthe TR6,
the peices are not interchangable. I just never expected, thus never
checked when I had the clutch apart, that the PO would have put a Borg &
Beck pressure plate with a Lockheed clutch disk.
I saw the PO this morning, and asked him about the clutch. He said that
2 years ago the clutch had failed and he took the car in for repair.
When he got it back the clutch would not disengage easily, so he
complained to the mechanic. The mechanic told him it was becasue it was
new and it would soon wear in and be ok. Shortly after that the shop
went out of business and the PO stoped driving the car due to
frustration.
To bad he didn't take it to a reputable shop. Oh well his loss is my
gain. I think???
