clue #1: TC has intermitant shake whick can be changed or even
sometime stoped by desengaging or re engaging the clutch.
clue #2: The car has a new crank shaft.
.......... Ok, one posable explanation is that the pilot bushing
got left out of the end of the crank shaft when you remounted the
flywheel. This would probably result in exactly the symtoms you
mention.
With out the front end suported the transmission input shaft could
sometimes deflect and the clutch disk could get off center which
at certain combinations of speed would shake worse then others.
If you disengaged the clutch in with the car in gear and moving,
the disk would be free but still spinning as a result of the rear
wheels turning. Gyroscopic action might tend to center it up a bit.
At any rate you let the clutch back out and get a fresh bite in it,
which, if you are lucky, is better.
Well.. It could be..
Could your pilot bearing still in the end of the broken crank??
Well good luck with it whatever the answer.
