Yes, I missed my MG`s so much on my frequent trips from D.C. to
Flagstaff that I drove it out last week. I was so sick of rental cars,
since it is hard to find one with a manual transmission and steering that
is anywhere near as good as my MG's. I decided to bring one of my two
here and leave it at work when I go back to DC. I am still writing my trip
report, but the Reader's Digest version follows.
I drove to Knoxville, TN, visited relatives and the Smokies. Then I
drove to Arkansas, where I got caught in a huge traffic jam caused by
a chemical spill. The next day I drove to a campsite at a lake near
Tucumcari, NM. The drive from the Ozarks to the desert was fairly
dull. After a lousy night's camping (how can you call it camping when
the Winnebago at the next site has it's TV on until 3 am?), I drove up
NM Rt. 104 to Santa Fe, which is a neat town. I then drove through
Albuquerque, where I saw the only other LBC on the trip - a harvest
gold MGB - and then straight to Flagstaff. Three and a half days
driving, one and a half sightseeing, and the MGB ran like a champ - no
problems at all.
Now that it is living at 7000 feet, where the air pressure is about
80% what it is at sea level, I imagine I will have to adjust the
mixture. Does anyone know if I should adjust the timing, too?
