Marcus, one hardtop fits all Spitfires 62-70; the other fits all 71-on.
Other than profile, the most obvious differnce is in the door window
opening: rounded on upper rear edge on earlier cars, *squared* off on
the later ones.
And Larry, I'm hesitant to admit it, but a GT6 is also a practical
car, especially in load capacity. I've carried dozens of pylons and
assorted timing equipment for autocrosses. With a genuine designed-for-
the-car-but-you-have-to-drill-holes-to-mount-it roof luggage rack,
you can tie down those extension ladders and long 2x4s that otherwise
stick too far out of the hatch! (Hey, when it's your only car, which it
was for two years after I bought it in 1975, you make it work for you.)
Of course, there's always a 2.5L PI Triumph Estate Wagon, Ray. ;-)
