Thanks, Robert, for a timely response.  But, at the risk of sounding snide
(which I in no way intend), let me point out that "one man's pocket change
is another man's fortune" (paraphrased), though of course it's not really
that bad.  But I do find myself at an unfortunate point in my cyclic financial
state, so I'm searching for alternatives.  (*)

A point which I neglected to include in my original post:  The cost of two
(if one's gone bad after 20 years, I can reasonably suspect that the other's
not too far behind) rebuilt lever shocks approaches the cost of Moss' own
Front Tubular Shock Conversion.  Of course, from here we launch directly into
a debate about the relative merits and shortcomings of each system...
