The 'railings' are sort of decorative overrider thingies which (I thinks) were
made by AMCO and were available as a dealer installed option on TR6's up
through maybe '74 (at least I haven't seen them on newer cars). Does anyone
have a spare one for the rear? Mine has been missing it since I got the car
about 6 years ago, and it hasn't floated to the top of the priority queue yet.
The extra pair of lights were there for only one year (again, I think!) and
were a result of a contention with the DOT over the visible area of taillight
surface. Evidently, the original lights were just a tad below the DOT specs,
(or the current interpretation of same) so they quick kludged up the extra
lights/reflectors.
All comments and corrections to the above are welcome - I don't especially
want to spread invalid information.
