Well, as I have said before Darlene, my "Sig. Other"
loves sports cars and loves knowing where I am. When other wives complain
that "he says he's out playing cards but who knows" Darlene can say
"Chris is out under the car".
My only other suggestion is that the "other" should:
1. Learn to drive a standard.
2. Attend a driving school (track & skid pan)
3. Have a sports car that they conside theirs and you service.
or:
1. Have an equally interesting and absorbing hobby
2. Have equal "time away from it all"
The major car events also supply a soothing oil on the waters by getting
you both away, alone, attending dinners and staying in hotels where you
MUST spoil your "other" rotten. If things REALLY need help you can even
attend events in new citires and send said "other" out to town with your
Mastercard or VISA, but this is an extreme measure for emergency use only.
This all said I must say that when I can't figure out what is wrong with
a car and Darlene comes by to see how it's going she invariably spots the
problem or suggests a solution which turns out to be correct. Very, uh,
well let's face it ... very annoying, but give credit where credit is due.
Today, having put out my order for the Moto Lita steering wheel I'm going
to replace the sewing machine that is driving Darlene mad in HER hobby.
HINT HINT !
