I'm almost ready to put the Spitfire on the road. I was going to
flush the brake system and change the brake cylinder seals last night.
Upon removing the drums I noticed that both brums where cracked. One
crack on each drum and both cracks goes from one of the stud holes to the
inside radius of the drum. Is this common for the Spitfire? It's weird
that both drums are cracked and also in the same manner. Well, it looks
like more work, another trip to the parts shop and more money.
I ran into a problem while changing the seals for the brake cylinders.
The new seals were too small and the brakes leaks. I ended up putting
the old seals back. I've call the parts shop about it and they double
checked the part number and what I have is right for my car. Now I have
to check if I have the correct cylinders on my car. Well, it looks
like more work, another trip to the parts shop and more money, again :).
