Michael and Jeff,
Yes, I did mean Brookline, Mass. in my previous e-mail. "British
Cars Day" is held at the Museum of Transportation (MOT) at Larz Anderson
Park in Brookline. There is always 200+ cars there. They usually hold a
Triumphs-only show the week before or the week after too. The MOT tries
to keep a weekly theme through the summer months, I believe.
As for when the show is this year, I cannot give a reliable date. It is
always in July (and it's _always_ a hot, _humid_ day! :-) The last one
I was at was in 1992 and the date was July 19. In 1991 it was July 14.
So guestimate it will be around then, probably July 17 this year. In which
case I definitely will not be there since that is the day of the World Cup
Final.
"British On The Green" in Granby, Conn. is usually in August. I think it
is at the end of August. I'm only guessing at August 28. I've read that
they get 350+ cars there.
I've been to the Brookline show several times, albeit it's quite the haul
up from the Connecticut shoreline it's still a nice day out. I've met
several SOLers there. I've never been to the Granby show despite it being
probably only an hour away from where I live. I'm planning to go this year!
I don't know if other SOLers have ever been to the Granby show before.
Hope this helps!
Cheers!
