I discovered a 1967 Herald 1200 (actually, a '65) a couple of years ago. (It
was literally in a barn, under a pile of junk - a classic story!) I had it on
the road for less than a year and the trans mission blew up on me. I figured
I'd dig in and see what the story was and it turns out a tooth from the 3rd
gear broke off and bent the worm gear on the input shaft.
Here's my problem: Where can I get these parts?? For most of the rebuild,
I've been able to figure out part numbers from the older Spitfire models
which are interchangeable. But for the gears and input shaft, I haven't been
successful. Can someone point me to a book (like Haynes) which would break
out the part numbers? Or even better, a shop which supplies the parts! Please
