MGB GT screen washer bottle ?

I have a little curious question about my MGB GT '69. It's a mk.IV 
(GHD4) with the US dashboard (the ugly Abingdon pillow), but where did the 
screen washer bottle sit originally? 
I know that on earlier cars it was situated on the little plate next to
the heater, but if this has been the case on my car, the plate must have been
changed.
My questions is, could it have been placed somewhere else?
