Hi Folks,
my brother is looking at buying a XKE that is for sale here
locally and was wondering what to *especially* look out for.
The car has been sitting outside for the last seven years and
at first glance appears to be in fair shape. But if you examine
it closely you can see that the harsh winters have taken their
toll. The convertible top has a torn rear window and as a
result the interior looks scruffy. The body appears to have
some bondo, and the passenger door is a crease in it. The
chrome trim is falling off.
The guy he was talking to didn't actually own the car, and
he didn't have the keys there at the time. He claims that
it is a 1972 6-cylinder. Apparently the engine blows a
bit of blue when driven, and there were signs of fresh
oil drops underneath.
Thanks for any advice.
