It has been recommended that the program to convert GIF files to BMP files NOT
be uploaded to the server as doing this sets a precedence, and there is not
enough room to make the server a software server also. Since this makes sense
to me, here's the real source of the program:
The program GIF2BMP.EXE converts .GIF files into .BMP files that can be used
as windows wallpaper, i.e. convert your favorite car picture into your windows
background. It can be found via
the FTP archive : ftp.cica.indiana.edu (129.79.26.27)
in the directory: ~/ftp/pub/pc/win3/desktop
in the file : gif2bmp.zip
Since I can never seem to get on cica..., I use the the mirror archive,
gatekeeper, which is usually easier to get on to than cica...
mirror archive : gatekeeper.dec.com
in the directory: /pub/micro/msdos/win3/desktop
in the file : gif2bmp.zip
You also have to use a unzip program (i.e. pkunzip) to unzip the file
and create the executable.
