well, brain dead again, this has happened before and I wonder if I have
a wire pair reversed, or if its a bad diode in the alternator....
a wire pair reversed, or if its a bad diode in the alternator.......
after resurecting a '68 MGB the IG Light is on when the key is inserted
but not turned, then light goes off for acc. position, and when starting
and is off when running. I can disconnect the battery and she runs, so
alternator is connected and working properly,
IDEAS>>?....talk alternaotr shop into checking alternator....? guess so,
unless I have a more obvious mismatched pair of wires somewhere....just
reconected every wire under the hood and dash, and all else seems to be
fine....., the reconnections where from newer used dash, '73 BGT OD
pwertrain, and tomarrow,,,,the better '73BGT's un-sun-melted-rubber
component front end.......the fast way to make a roadster out of a bondo
buggy GT, and get OD to boot..,
How different are the GT springs on a B, anything significant...?
Thanks, respond directly please as I am woefully behind on reading digests
with two weeks of house and garage projects in progress prior to putting
our house on the Austin real estate market Mid-May, in prep to our move
to Chapel Hill NC.....
thanks....Jim....e-mail.... rtik207@utxvms.cc.utexas.edu ..... ttfn
