Fellow fiends and jag-o-philes:
from this morning's Detroit News:
"Profiting from the past"
an article on 'hot' investor car purchases with remarks by Dean Kruse.
jumping to the relevant portion of the list...
"An all-time favorite among sports-car fans was the 1970-1975 Jaguar E-type
V-12 roadsters. "The low prices that these cars are selling for will never
be seen again," Kruse said. He said they are currently selling at $30,000
to $40,000 and forsees a 14 percent increase in value this year. Other
British sports-car favorites worth looking at this year, Kruse says, are the
1959-1968 Austin Healy 3000 roadster and the 1958-61 Austin Healy "Bug eye"
Sprite. Good 3000 models are now selling for $16,000 to $22,000, while
Sprites leave the auction block for $8,500 to $12,500. Kruse expects both
will increase in value by 15 percent."
Sigh.
