TR7 vs TR8 release bearing carrier

I am hoping someone out there has both a TR7 and TR8. I need to know if there
really is a difference between the two throwout bearing carriers. Some places
carry two different part numbers, and two _drastically_ different prices, and
others claim they are the same part. I am getting ready for a conversion, and
am wondering if I can use my spare TR7 carrier with the V8.

Anyone have any ideas?
