Hmmm.  Complicated.  I went home and looked at the three crummy ones I 
own and I see what you mean.  They must be original though - all one 
piece, same number of holes and the groove is there.  I might take a trip 
to Motorhead in Northern VA sometime soon and could look at one there in 
person.  I'll keep you informed on the search.

The bonnet got straightened and painted based on the best crummy grill I 
had.  I'll bet I'm gonna wish I had bought the new one first....
