OFFICE MEMO Re> Turner and Kurtis Date:2/28/94
Turners were made from 1951-66, 8 models all tiny like a Sprite, various
engines including Austin, Coventry-Climax and Ford. Jack Turner got some
illness, so production stopped at 676 cars.
Frank Kurtis was American, best known for his oval track midgets and Indy 500
racers. His first road car, the 1949 Kurtis Sports, became the Muntz Jet. The
500KK and 500S were sort of like the J2 Allard. The 500M had a better body sort
of like a '55 T-bird. Cadillac and Ford V-8 engines were the usual. Total
production of Kurtis road cars =110, plus 394 Muntzes.
