CD 175 Stromberg. Temp compensator ???

Hi SOLers.

On the CD175 Stromberg carbs as fitted to Range rovers etc.  At what
temperature should the Temperature compensation valve open to lean out he
idle mix??  Mine appear to be screwed shut and dont open at all, can/does
this cause any problems?

Unfortunately I am not a current subscriber so could all replies be emailed
