After what seems like an eternity driving my Dodge pickup, the GT6+ is running
again. I got the head back on this morning. This turned out to be a very easy
task. I assembled the manifolds on the head ahead of time and it just dropped
right on. No problem.
Note to myself: Close radiator drain plug before pouring in a gallon of
antifreeze/water mix.
Note to myself: Next time, remember to put the fan belt back on. Also, remember
to bolt the alternator bracket to the water pump body.
Believe it or not, those were the only two dumb things I did. A record!
My front carb was pouring gas out when I first started it, but a sharp rap on
the appropriate spot with a heavy object unstuck the float. It dried right up.
Amazing! Now I'm waiting for my teak dash from Prestige Autowood. It should be
here any time...
