Another solution is to install a - ground radio but electrically isolate it
(from any metal). I did this on my '67 Spitfire. I made a facia out of
black plastic to mount the front of the radio. I used a piece of plastic
scrap to support the rear of the radio. I wrapped the entire radio chassis
with cardboard since it will be electrically hot. Finally, I isolated
the antenna where it mounts on the fender (I used rubber washers made from
an inner tube). Works OK. I admit a + ground radio would be ideal but they're
hard to find. I scoured the local junk yards to no avail.
