Hi all! Now that I have Amanda (the TR6) and we're going to be together for
quite a bit, I'm making a list of Stuff To Do For Her and I had some questions.
1) She's been making a nasty thump going over bumps in her left rear, which
now squeaks a bit all the time and still makes nasty thumps. I *think*
it's the shock, but wanted to see if there was any other common gotchas that
might cause this...she appears to be driving OK. IN any case, if it *is*
the scock, I was thinking of getting a gas shock conversion kit such as the
one sold by Vicky B...does anyone have experience with these? Are they
good? They're cheaper than new/rebuilt lever arms, as far as I can tell...
Are there any manufacturers to prefer/avoid? Could a mechanicially 'ept'
novice do this safely?
2) What is the best way to deal with paint jobs? I don't trust commercial
paint shops to handle an LBC, especially a convertible...is there a way to
do this myself, or does anyone know of anyone in the Boston area who is
trustworthy?
3) Could some kind soul mail me the number for The Roadster Factory which I
think I once had and then lost like the cyberslob I am...I can't find my
mail archives. :-)
Thanks all for your time and attention!
