No. Rover's engine range is very complicated at the moment,
consisting of:
A-series: (yes, folks, still going strong since 1949) : Maestro, Mini
K-series: 1.1 & 1.4 8-valve SOHC, 1.4 16-valve DOHC: Metro, 200 & 400 series
?-series (was O): 2.0 DOHC 16-valve turbo & N/A: 200, 400, 800.
Perkins diesel: Montego, Maestro
Peugeot diesel: Metro, 200 & 400 series
Honda: 1.6 16-valve SOHC & DOHC version: 200, 400 series
Honda: 2.0 something or other: 600 series.
Honda: 2.7 V6 16-valve: 800 series.
This is for cars: others will know the Land Rover engine line-up better
than me (Rover/Buick V8, 6-cylinder TDi diesel etc.).
Rover's philosophy long-term is eventually to replace Honda engines with
their own, as this is cheaper and a "good thing". The K-series shows they
can still build world-class engines. Bigger capacity versions are on the way.
